Divorce Court

Looking for a reason to get a divorce folks? I have the best and speediest way to get those papers under way.

Hang blinds together!

I wanted plantation shutters, however, those are about the most expensive (yet purty) window treatments around. I settled for white wood blinds. Why are they shut on the bottom? The dogs. This way, I can open the top for sun and breeze and push the bottom ones shut so the dogs can't see out and beat the windows when someone walks by. (it will only look like this when we are home. when we are gone I will close them completely.)

I will order some panels to go up later on. Lee and I need to drink some wine, eat some steak, and repair our relationship after hanging these up.

Then tomorrow, hang about 9 more sets (at least all single windows, not 3's!)

More wine might be needed.

For now, the Amazing Rhythm Aces are calming my nerves while Lee chooses to shoot people on his PS3 for relief.

Jimmy is BACK!

My main man Jimmy Buffett is coming back to Houston! We already have tickets for the Lawn section and I am so excited!

(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Also - Today is National Margarita Day!

I would really rather be having a marg than sitting at my desk in total defense mode.

Hola Madre!

I call my mother Madre. I have for years. Until Thursday night, I had not seen my madre since JULY!! WHAT?
So she is here and we have been on an extravaganza of food and fun!

Friday: First up breakfast, then HAIR! I took her to see Justin at Traci Scott Salon. Justin is my sweetie pit hair guru that puts with my hair-mood-swings. Love him.Ain't she purty?
We also had pedicures, and did the whole deal with hot stones and wax. Woohoo!
Saturday: Shopapalooza. Galleria style. We made this list at Starbucks on a break - where we talked to a girl with her 1 year old boy and how he was the devil as a baby. Yeah - didn't freak me out one bit. *panic attack!*
After our 5 hours in the Galleria, we succeeded in buying jackets at Chico's, and walking walking walking. We stopped for lunch at Gigi's Dumpling house, which had an awesome chinese cherry blossom piece in the dining area:
Yesterday we got mom all up to date with an iPhone, then hit target and found the perfect black pants (after HOURS at the evil Galleria with nothing to show for it!), and went grocery shopping.

Tonight we are going to just take it easy and she is heading out in the morning. But this time, not 7 months will go by, I swear.

Wanna see what we have been eating? Check it out here.

Hair Debacle 2010

In almost 5 years of marriage and almost 8 (9?) years together... I have never once had Lee dislike my hair. Now, I know you would think that is because he didn't say something. But if you know him, you know he doesn't NOT tell you his opinion.

Friday, I wanted a change and had my hair dyed dark brown. Super dark. I loved it in the salon. I loved it driving home. I started to second guess it a few hours later.

Then Lee came home.

"Woah."
"I didn't know you were doing that today..."
"It's shorter too!"

I added these three together, figured it out, and started to bawl like he had kicked my grandmother in the shins.

"What's wrong?!!!"
Then.. the words that sent me over the edge...
"It's just, you had such pretty blonde hair this morning and I ...."

Me: "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! *bawl*"
Lee: oh man... I messed up.. oh man...

This went on, about 30 good minutes.

I panicked. I texted Justin, my beloved hair stylist.
He came in, on his day off that Sunday, and threw some highlights in it.
I handed him a wad of cash and thanked him from the bottom of my heart.

I get home, Lee is gone.
He came home with these (for Valentines day):

Then he said "your hair looks MUCH better!"
And I did my best not to cry all over again.

Love him.

And my favorite person:
Next trip: Grand Caymen with BMC - as long as Lee closed his deals by Match 31. He will, I have faith in him!

Olympics Fashion

We were not home last night to watch the opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics, so I missed the long entry of each country (a.k.a the fashion show!) so I have been googling for photos today.
I can't find one of USA walking with the flag, so I have to assume they looked just like this:
I like the hats alot!
I do think the Canadians looked awesome with the plaid scarves and maple-leaf mittens.
The actualy games today.. boring. I like the bobsledding and ice skating. Lee loves the Olympics - but even he has fallen asleep on the sofa.

Now that sounds like a good idea...

Thoughts of babies...

I can't stop thinking about babies. I have the fever, it's going to happen soon.

Anyway, my new music obsession is Donovan Frankenteiter and this song is playing at my desk right now and it makes me think of me and Lee and how we will deal with adding to our family.

"Call Me Papa"

Moon comes up
And the moon goes down
Another sleepless night
Another sleepless town
I got you
I got you

Whenever I think about
What I lost
I change my mind instead
To what I still got
Cause I got you
I said I got you

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

Soon enough you know
I'll be around
But that aint soon enough
Cause it aint right now
I need you
I said I got you

When you close your eyes
And you drift to sleep
From time to time
I hope you're running to me
I'm thinking of you
I hope you see me to

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

Well you can call me papa
And I'll call you baby
Don't forget your momma's my baby too
Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be there
I'll be there for you

New Bedding!

Place: West Elm
Colors: Ivory and slate blue/grey
Items: Pin-tuck duvet, blanket, sheet set, throw blanket, and throw pillow. The sweater pillow is adorable, but they were out of fills for it so she ordered me one! I can't wait to fall asleep on it and wake up with some awesome patterns in my face..
The only downsides - if you tug the duvet too hard, you can hear some of the little pin-tuck spots rip a little. and the puppies got on the bed and decided they MUST dig new spots and the blue blanket between the duvet and the sheets snagged really easily.
Otherwise - so happy!

Please imagine the walls the same color as that throw blanket. That's the next step to bedroom makeover this month!

Off to Puerto Rico!
